kommen mir die Tränen. Ich kann nicht anders. Denn ich glaube fest daran, dass in Menschen eine tiefe Sehnsucht vorhanden ist, sich von „a force from above“ erfüllen zu lassen. Eine Voraussetzung, um sie dann auch an andere weitergeben zu können.

Liebe als Ziel, als täglicher Maßstab für meine Entscheidungen. Keine einfache Sache. Doch was sind wir ohne die Liebe? Laotse – auch wenn er nur eine Legende sein mag – bietet dazu einige anregende Gedanken, entdeckt letztes Jahr in einer Kirche in Wismar:

Verantwortung ohne Liebe macht rücksichtslos.
Gerechtigkeit ohne Liebe macht hart.
Wahrheit ohne Liebe macht kritisch.

Mit diesen Zeilen möchte ich Euch allen eine besinnliche Zeit und einen schönen Jahreswechsel wünschen! Some will know this line. It comes from the song „The Power Of Love“ by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. A song that has lost nothing of its power and incredible intensity after more than 36 years. Perfect for the end of the year. Every time I hear it, tears come to my eyes. I can’t help it.

Because I firmly believe that we humans have a deep longing to be filled by „a force from above“. A prerequisite for then being able to pass them on to others.

Love as a goal, as a daily yardstick for my decisions. Not an easy thing. But what are we without love? Lao Tzu – even if he may only be a legend – offers some inspiring thoughts on this, discovered last year in a church in Wismar:

Duty without love makes you grumpy.
Responsibility without love makes us inconsiderate.
Justice without love creates hardness.
Truth without love makes a person critical.
Parenting without love gives rise to contradictions.
