(English below) Ich finde der Februar ist der schlimmste Monat im Jahr. Jedenfalls im norddeutschen Flachland. Nicht Fisch nicht Fleisch. Kein richtiger Winter und noch kein Frühling in Sicht. Kein Bunt, kein strahlendes Weiß, nur Grau ohne das gewisse Etwas des Novembers …
Wenigstens ist er dieses Jahr nicht auch noch einen Tag länger. 😉 Deswegen gibt es von mir jetzt mal was schön Buntes als kleine Aufmunterung. Und auch als Vorfreude auf den Frühling und Sommer.
I think February is the worst month of the year. At least in the northern German lowlands. Not fish, not meat. No real winter and still no spring in sight. No colour, no bright white, just grey without that certain something of November.
At least it’s not a day longer this year. 😉 So here’s something colourful to cheer you up. And also to look forward to spring and summer.
Als ich mein Archiv durchstöberte war ich wenig verwundert, dass so einige der buntesten Motive von Menschenhand geschaffen sind. Da schwingt doch sehr viel Sehnsucht nach Lebendigkeit mit. Hier nun meine Ausbeute. Ich hoffe für jeden von Euch ist etwas Schönes dabei!
When I rummaged through my archives, I was not surprised that some of the most colourful motifs were created by human hands. There is a lot of longing for liveliness in it. Here is my haul. I hope there is something beautiful for each of you!

Ja, im Sommer 2018 vor unserem Pyrenäen Wanderurlaub. Das Besorgen der Tickets am Morgen für den Besuch am Nachmittag fand ich umständlich, aber das Kirchinnere hat mich umgehauen !

Ging mir ähnlich! Ich hatte die Tickets sehr frühzeitig besorgt, da ich zu meinem Geburtstag in der Sagrada Familia sein wollte. Und hinterher noch das Hospital Sant Paul und Barcelona Sightseeing. War ein klasse Tag.

Ups, da ist ja wirklich für jeden Geschmack was Buntes dabei, bei der Auswahl. Ich muss hin und herscrollen, aber ich entscheide mich für die Kolbenente, das Bienchen folgt dann auf Platz 2 😉
Wunderschöne Bilder sind es. Ich warte nun auf die 2. Schneekatastrophe, 78/79 waren wir auf dem Dorf komplett eingeschneit, der Nachbar zog mit dem Schlitten 10 km zum Einkaufen. Aber, wir waren jung und es war daher alles machbar 😉

Ja, die orange Ente in dem lila Wasser gefällt mir ebenfalls sehr, liebe Maren!
An 78/79 kann ich mich auch noch gut erinnern, obwohl ich da erst 10 war. Es gab Unmengen an Schnee!
Ich bin auch gespannt, ob die Kältewelle mit Schnee aus dem Norden bis Hannover reicht oder bei Euch „hängen bleibt“.
Aber beim Schneeschippen kann ich Dir leider nicht helfen. Sonst würde ich gerne hochfahren 😉

78/79 haben wir hier gerade gebaut – es war schlimm, alles blieb liegen oder wurde zerstört. Ich hoffe, es wird nicht wieder so heftig. Schneeschippen machen wir mit ner Kehrmaschine, von daher 😉

Da ist nicht nur ein schönes Bild dabei, sondern ganz viele! Die Biene ist toll, die schimmelige Frucht (habe Schimmel noch nie so schön gesehen!), der Bismutkristall – wow, die Ente, die bunte Buhne und auch die anderen Bilder sind schöne fröhliche Highlights an diesen trüben Tagen. Danke Almuth für Deine lieben Worte! Ich mag ja sonst auch gerne die gedeckteren und dezenteren Farben, aber gerade jetzt ist mir echt nach fett Farbe. Vielleicht gibt es ja noch mal richtig Weiß am WE?? Am besten wieder mit blauen Himmel? Dann bin ich sowas wie wieder im Wald 😉

Ja, Farbe oder Weiß, so sehe ich das auch 🙂 Jetzt beim letzten Schnee habe ich es nicht in den Wald geschafft. Da war es mir zu glatt, wobei es Sonntag vielleicht gegangen wäre. Schau ma mal, was sie uns am WE bieten 🙂

Ich mag den Februar, den schneereichsten Wintermonat. Zeit für die Skiferien – außer in diesem Jahr. Ansonsten geht der Monat aber recht schnell um 🙂

Ja, man kann den Februar mögen, wenn man am richtigen Ort ist. 😉 Aber warten wir auf das WE, dann gibt’s vielleicht noch richtig viel Schnee im norddeutschen Tiefland.

I so enjoyed all of these cheering and beautiful photographs. I know what you mean about February from when I lived in the UK (a long time ago) – I learned the hard way that the wait for spring is very long and difficult to cope with at times! Photos and memories such as these are a tonic, also here in South Africa where where autumn will be approaching before too long …

Oh yes, as an ex-British woman you really understand exactly what I meant with that post. Even longer nights than in Germany 🙂 Although I also like grey weather very much, the months in winter in Germany without snow are simply too long. Especially now with the pandemic.

What a joyful post this is – there is so much eye candy. For me, November and even December are worse than February but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy having a shot of color right about now. The first 4 photos really made me feel good and then that moldy orange is a very funny addition. Is the round thing between the carp and the duck a kind of sea creature? It’s amazing. The colors in the Gaudi photos are so delicious – I hope I can get there someday. Thank you for this delightful treat. 🙂

Yes, one could almost assume it was a creature from the sea. But in fact it is wood with green algae. Together with the water and the sunshine, it looks so colourful.
